Mai Atafo, Folake Coker, Dimeji Alara, Ono Bello & Others As Judges For The Season 2 Of ‘The Making’

Fashion is the next big thing in Nigeria after the Nollywood and entertainment industry. Nigeria, as we know has a vast and untapped sea of creative fashion designers who if given the opportunity will take fashion designing to the next level.

 

 

 

‘The Making’ a weekly fashion series provides this needed exposure that young and budding fashion designers need to jumpstart their career. It is an intimate peek into the fashion industry and the making of a fashion brand.The project aims to bring creative and talented designers in contact with experienced designers, magazine editors, fashion consultants, PR specialist, stockist and business managers and their expertise.

 

The Making is open to young designers between the ages of 13-35. It opened entry on the 5th of September, 2012 and it runs till the 21st of this month for designers who already have a collection for the shoot. The project itself kicks off on the 25th of September through October 26th, 2012 with filming and photo-shoot for the 30 chosen designers.

 

Each week for 10 weeks, 3 designers and their stylists will present and pitch their collection to a panel of judges who will subject each designer and their designs to critical appraisals, evaluations and recommendations. At the end, alist of 10 designers will be selected on key criteria.

 

This10 selected designers will then each get a free photo shoot, PR Services for their collection and full spreads in Stylemania, Exquisite, WOW and Complete fashion magazine. The winning collection gets an electric sewing machine and a cash prize of N100, 000. It will also get a feature in a magazine.
